Bloodstone
The mineral aggregate heliotrope, also known as bloodstone, is a variety of jasper or chalcedony. The "classic" bloodstone is green jasper with red inclusions of hematite. The red inclusions are supposed to resemble spots of blood, hence the name bloodstone. Bloodstone is a 7 on the Mohs scale for hardness. Bloodstone is thought to cleanse energy and help in purification, calming and soothing of mind and emotions.
